The 23-year artistic partnership of the duo Broomberg & Chanarin was officially terminated on the 20th of February 2021. On that date, their last will and testament was opened and read aloud at El Centro d’Art Contemporani Fabra i Coats, in Barcelona, alongside a display of their estate, including the archive of Chopped Liver Press. In December 2020 in London, a 13-metre-long articulated truck, loaded with crates containing the artist’s entire archive, departed for Barcelona marking the start of the “funerary procession” for the pair’s collaboration. Reaching the destination it provided materials for the duo’s first ‘posthumous retrospective’. The Late Estate Broomberg & Chanarin is managed by Goodman Gallery.
